BluFish Consulting Supports Marshall High School Student with College Scholarship through BluFish Gives Back Donation

With a desire to impact the next generation of marketing and advertising professionals, BluFish Consulting recently awarded Marshall High School student, Malena Solis, with a college scholarship to study marketing at Albion College.

“We knew that we wanted to use one of our monthly donations to impact the youth in our community,” said Ryan Traver, President/Owner of BluFish. “As a team, we highly value the impact that a college degree can make on an individual’s life. So it only made sense to support our youth in the form of a college scholarship.”

BluFish turned to the Marshall Community Foundation for help with establishing the scholarship. Given their expertise in the entire scholarship process, they played a key role in getting the ball rolling and identifying qualified candidates. After reviewing applications, the BluFish team selected Malena Solis as the scholarship recipient.

“What stood out about Malena was not only her impressive list of school and community activities, but the resilience she has shown thus far in her life and the outstanding letters of recommendation that were written on her behalf,” Traver said. “This line of work is incredibly fun and rewarding, but you have to be quick on your feet and also have thick skin. Based on what we know about Malena, we’re confident that she has what it takes to succeed, and we’re happy to help her do just that!”

Throughout her time at Marshall High School, Malena has been involved in school organizations and clubs like Big Brothers, Big Sisters, National Honors Society, and NAACP. A student from Albion, she’s also invested her time in activities that benefit her community, such as Albion’s Big Read and Citizens to Beautify Albion.

When asked how she feels about receiving the BluFish Scholarship, Malena said, “When I found out, I was excited to see how this can help my future, but also how my hard work throughout high school and the application process paid off.”

If you know of someone that could benefit from being the recipient of a $500 donation for one of our remaining BluFish Gives Back contributions, fill out the submission form to be considered.
